1,800 TEU container ship HCY – 265 successfully launched

At 15:08, 23 July, 2023, at Huang Hai Shipyard (China), the 1,800 TEU container ship (HCY - 265), the first of the 3 Bangkok Mk IV ships that HAI AN TRANSPORT AND STEVEDORING JOINT STOCK COMPANY ordered to be built anew, was launched. The launching was safely completed at 16:08. Present at the launching ceremony were the Shipyard's Board of Directors, Leader and team members of the shipbuilding supervising team of the Company and the representative of ABS leaders.
The vessel's particulars include: IMO number 9967043, 172 m long, 28.4 m wide, draft: 9.7 m, maximum load 1,800 TEU, in which 1,127 TEU on deck and 654 TEU in hatch, maximum speed at 18.5 knots per hour, supervised by and bearing the class of the American Registry Office ABS, equipped with Man B and W6S60ME-C10.5 main engine, tier 2, which meets the US and EU emission standards. As the ship keel was laid early, Tier III has not been applied and operational routes are still unrestricted.
After being successfully launched, vessel HCY-265 will continue to complete the remaining work in its cargo bunker, cabin, engine room, installation and trial operation of the machinery systems, electrical systems, valves, mooring, and long distance test trials.
According to the plan, vessel HCY - 265 will be completed and handed over to HAI AN TRANSPORT AND STEVEDORING JOINT STOCK COMPANY in early November 2023 with the name HAIAN ALFA.
