Strengthening shipping services to China in particular and the broader Asian region in general is one of the key directions in HAH’s business strategy.

As part of its strategy to expand international shipping services connecting major Vietnamese ports with leading Asian ports - in response to the rapid growth in import-export demand and to enhance the presence of Hai An’s fleet in China and the region - on July 5, 2025, Hai An Transport and Stevedoring Joint Stock Company (Hai An - HoSE: HAH) officially launched a new container service linking Vietnam to Lianyungang Port in China.
The new service, named ECX, follows the rotation: Ho Chi Minh City – Hai Phong – Lianyungang – Hai Phong – Ho Chi Minh City, with a fortnightly frequency.

Hai An is the first Vietnamese shipping line to operate a service to Lianyungang Port. The ECX is a direct service connecting Lianyungang – Hai Phong – Ho Chi Minh City, offering shippers in both Vietnam and China optimal transit time and efficient transport solutions.
The ECX service is operated by two container vessels under Hai An’s management: HAIAN TIME (1,032 TEU) and HAIAN BELL (1,200 TEU). With this launch, Hai An is now operating three direct container shipping services to China, connecting Vietnamese ports with Nansha, Qinzhou and Lianyungang.
The continuous expansion of its international network - particularly in the Intra-Asia region - underscores Hai An’s efforts in fleet development, market expansion, enhancing competitiveness, and affirming its position as a leading Vietnamese container carrier in the international maritime transport sector.
Founded in 2009, after 16 years of operation, Hai An Transport and Stevedoring JSC currently owns a fleet of 17 container vessels with a total capacity of 28,200 TEUs, accounting for approximately 68% of Vietnam’s container fleet capacity and around 30% of the domestic container shipping market share.
In addition to expanding its domestic service network across Vietnam, Hai An has been actively exploring opportunities to open new routes within the Intra-Asia region. To date, Hai An has successfully launched six Intra-Asia services, directly connecting Vietnam with Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Malaysia, India, and Cambodia.
At the 2025 Annual General Meeting, HAH shareholders approved the operational target for 2025, aiming for a total handling volume of 1.46 million TEUs, representing an approximate 9% increase compared to 2024. Of this, vessel operations are projected to account for 689,000 TEUs, port operations for 588,000 TEUs, and depot services for 178,000 TEUs.
Accordingly, HAH targets total revenue of VND 4,556 billion and consolidated post-tax profit of VND 865 billion in 2025, up 13% and 33% respectively compared to 2024 results.
The company also proposed to invest in the construction of four new container vessels with capacities ranging from 3,000 to 4,500 TEUs, and to acquire 2 to 3 additional secondhand vessels, if suitable opportunities arise. Concurrently, HAH is conducting studies and preparing plans for building larger vessels of 7,000 –9,000 TEUs. Regarding port and logistics infrastructure, HAH will phase out old reach stackers and invest in 1 to 2 new 45-ton Kalmar reach stackers.
As for profit distribution, HAH plans to pay a 40% dividend for 2024, comprising 10% in cash and 30% in shares, with an estimated issuance of approximately 39 million new shares.
